First of all, thanks for caring enough to get to know us!
I love seeing all comments and feedback on the site, so please don’t hesitate to tell us what you think.
My name’s Andrew Ericksen. I’m a native of Huntington Woods, Michigan, just a few miles north of Detroit. I recently moved out to Los Angeles, where I’m working on a few of productions and writing sports articles for an up-and-coming sports website called faniq.com.
While TheMarknight is the brains behind the operation, I’m here to keep the movie reviews fresh and (hopefully) engaging. I love any and all movie genres that come my way and seek originality above anything else. When a movie can do something wholly unique, that’s what really sets it apart in my opinion.
When people ask me what my favorite movie of all time is, I usually rotate between 5 or 6 answers:
“The Royal Tenenbaums” is the movie that really made me want to critically engage in the art of film.
“Pulp Fiction” is my favorite movie in terms of depth and the amount it has to offer in repeat viewings, overall the most complete film I’ve ever seen.
“8 ½” is the quasi-pretentions film school answer I’ll use if I’m uncomfortable or trying to fit in with a snobby crowd. Fellini is one of my all-time favorite filmmakers.
“Sunset Blvd.” is my favorite old-Hollywood film, always equally haunting and engaging every time I watch it.
“Memento” and “Adaptation” are my two favorite screenplays, and as an aspiring screenwriter, they double as two of my favorite films.
Thanks, and I hope you enjoy the site!
