Typically, when you strap things to the roof of your car, it’s because you are getting to go somewhere fun and do something exciting. Kayaks, canoes, skis, luggage – you name it. If it is on the roof of your car, you are in for an adventure. It’s this notion that Boulder-based Crispin, Porter + Bogusky used as the basis of a creative marketing campaign for Mini Cooper.
Basically, they had an SUV drive all around town that had a Mini strapped to its roof with the text “What are you doing for fun this weekend?” written on the SUV. It’s a cleverly simple campaign that is able to get the message across without hitting you over the head. Imagine the fun adventures you could have if you only had a Mini. I’m sure this left a lasting impression to everyone who saw it drive by.
